The origin of chocolate truffle
In December 1895, the French chocolatier chef Louis Dufour, then lacking inspiration for his chocolate delicacies at the end of the year, had the idea to create delicious ganaches shaped into a ball, immersed in an exquisite chocolate melted and coated with a delicate cocoa powder. The chocolate truffle was born!
Today we find this famous treat with French accents under the brand name "Truffettes de France": an intense moment in tasting under refined recipes, delicate aromas and inclusions.
Chocolaterie et Confiserie Moderne
CHOCMOD is a family business founded in 1948 in Tourcoing, France, under the name CHOCOLATERIE ET CONFISERIE MODERNE.
The passion for chocolate that animates the Destombes brothers, allows them to develop their activities that soon extend beyond regional borders. Very open to the outside world, the reputation of the company spreads internationally since the end of the 80s.
Chocmod and the passion for chocolate
With locations in France, Canada, USA and China, Chocmod is today the world leader in chocolate truffles of French tradition. To be closer to its customers and consumers, Chocmod supports its international development by opening sites in the heart of the consumption zones of our delicious chocolate products.
In 2011, to support sales growth in the Americas, a CHOCMOD plant was built in Canada. The recipes are imported from France to continue the influence of the art of living in the French way.
In 2019, in order to get closer to its ever-increasing Chinese consumers, a sales office is established in Shanghai with the aim of better understanding and serving the consumer.
Our expertise is focused on manufacturing, production, sale and shipping of chocolate products (truffle, marshmallow, chocolate-covered confectionery). With nearly 2000 references in the catalog, our range of products is very wide range of products to satisfy all tastes (truffles, marshmallows, confectionery, type of chocolate, flavors, inclusions, ...) and all the purses (premium, high content cocoa, fantasy).
