Roncq (Lille) - France
The "Chocolaterie Moderne" (renamed Chocmod in 1996) was created in 1948 in Tourcoing (France). After fifty years spent on the historic site, a new factory, larger, modern and functional, was built in Roncq.
The production and packaging lines for the manufacture of chocolate truffles, marshmallows wrapped in chocolate and confectionery have been progressively installed as product innovations have been introduced. They are constantly optimized for the quality of the products and the comfort of the employees.
The factory is organized to meet the seasonal peaks of Christmas and Easter. The production capacity is about 150,000 cans of chocolate per day or about 30 million per year.
Certifications
IFS / BRC :
IFS certification and BRC certification are audit benchmarks set up by large retailers to allow the delegation of their supplier audits to third-party organizations in order to ensure the control of food safety and to supervise the quality level of the manufacturers of private label products and / or first price products. Chocmod France is certified IFS and BRC at the higher grade.
Organic:
To obtain the certification and to display the mention "product resulting from organic farming", the products marketed in Europe must be controlled in conformity with the Official Regulations of the organic agriculture, by a control body approved by the public authorities.
FAIRTRADE:
The Fairtrade label is used to label fair trade goods whose production meets certain social, ecological and economic criteria. The Fairtrade programs for cocoa and sugar are based on fair production and marketing of raw materials: only the cocoa or sugar of each composite product must be Fairtrade certified.
UTZ:
UTZ is a sustainability program for coffee, cocoa and tea, working with existing brands. Farmers are empowered to improve their productivity, product quality and efficiency while taking care of people and the environment. They can then produce higher volumes at lower costs, raising the living standards of farming communities. Consumers can take advantage of their favorite brand while contributing to a sustainable world.
Saint Jean sur Richelieu (Montréal) - Québec - Canada
Opened in 2011, the Canadian Chocmod plant was built on the same standards as the Roncq parent plant in France. The chocolate truffles produced on the production and packaging lines in Canada scrupulously respect the French manufacturing secrets.
The Canadian factory Chocmod produces natural truffles, flavored truffles and the whole range of nougat (coated or uncoated chocolate).
The production capacity of the plant is about 8000 tons each year.
Certifications
BRC:
Le BRC défini une base commune d’exigences en matière de sécurité alimentaire pour les fabricants de produits MDD sur le marché britannique et permet d’uniformiser les audits. La certification BRC s’obtient après un audit de la part d’un organisme certificateur accrédité.
Kosher:
Kosher foods are those that comply with Jewish kashrut food regulations. The raw materials and production lines of our truffles and marshmallows meet the requirements of the Kosher certification.
