Chocmod (La Chocolaterie Moderne) is a French SME founded in 1948 by the Destombes brothers and located in Roncq in northern France, where millions of chocolate bites are still concocted every day!

The world leader in truffles, and equally renowned for its unrivalled softness of marshmallows, the company takes its delicacies far from home, and has conquered the hearts of gourmets in over 50 countries on all 5 continents, notably with its Truffettes de France brand.

In 2011, a second plant will be set up in Montreal (Canada) to serve the American market.

Innovative and daring, Chocmod has been preserving its know-how for 75 years and is constantly adding new nuances, imagined by a chocolate factory that has never stopped being modern!

Truffettes de France has a new look, paying homage to French elegance with bright, cheerful and colorful art nouveau graphic codes.

The brand joins forces with a MOF and World Chocolate Champion: the Pascal Brunstein Truffle range is born.

It marks its arrival on store shelves in the country where it was born

CHOCMOD AND A PASSION FOR CHOCOLATE

At Chocmod, we don't love chocolate, we adore it! And since 1948, we've been making our chocolate products (truffles, marshmallows, coated confectionery...) with passion.

Over the years, our know-how and expertise have enabled us to make Chocolaterie Moderne the world leader in French truffles, and the leading French player recognized the world over for its delicious chocolate bites (which also include our incredibly soft marshmallows).

A PASSION THAT TRAVELS BEYOND FRANCE

But none of this would have been possible without the spirit of daring that led the Destombes brothers, the founders, to place their bets!

Just as they were among the first confectioners in France, they were also export pioneers in the 80s, introducing the world to the art of French chocolate, with their little icebox under their arm. And in 2011, they set up a factory in Canada to bring production closer to their booming American markets. The recipes are imported from France to further promote the French art of living.

Today, it's a distillation of all these values that La Chocolaterie Moderne implements in the Truffettes de France brand, which has made it a worldwide success.

THE ORIGIN OF THE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE

Chambéry, December 1895 in the workshop of French pastry chef Louis Dufour: the chocolate truffle is born.

Short of chocolate for his dessert, and rather than buy raw materials from fellow chocolatiers, Louis Dufour decided to create a new chocolate creation from the ingredients at his disposal. Fresh cream, vanilla, cocoa powder... all formed into small balls dipped in melted chocolate then coated with cocoa powder, and there you have it: the chocolate truffle was born!
