OUR CSR POLICY

The ambition to develop business, but not at the expense of resources

As part of its CSR strategy, and with a view to going even further, Chocmod has assessed its carbon footprint. With the firm that helped it carry out this audit, Chocmod is deploying the pillars of a strategy to improve its impact.

Like many food industries, especially those using chocolate as an ingredient, agricultural raw materials are the main contributors to its footprint.

In order to preserve cocoa resources, prevent deforestation and contribute to fairer remuneration for producers, the company has decided to manufacture all Truffettes de France products from Rain Forest Alliance Certified cocoa. Added to this are the many products manufactured under customer brands that are also Rain Forest Alliance or Fair Trade certified.

For several years now, Chocmod has also been committed to palm-oil-free production, which now accounts for 100% of its output.

Chocmod is also deploying a strategy to reduce the environmental footprint of its industrial sites. Numerous investment projects have been launched to reduce energy consumption, for example by replacing a grinding line, a very energy-intensive process. Or heat recovery, by connecting the boiler to heated equipment, such as chocolate or liquid sugar vats, to heat the offices.

Finally, the company has set itself the goal of improving the well-being and pride of its employees. Training initiatives that enable employees to gain qualifications leading to a diploma, as well as participation in local philanthropy and solidarity initiatives, all contribute to this goal.
