Chocmod (La Chocolaterie Moderne) is a French small-to-medium-sized enterprise founded in 1948 by the Destombes brothers and located in Roncq in northern France, where millions of chocolate treats are still crafted every day!
A world leader in truffles and equally renowned for its marshmallows of unparalleled softness, the company exports its delicacies far beyond France and has won the hearts of food lovers in more than 50 countries across five continents, notably with its Truffettes à la française brand.
In 2011, a second factory was opened in Montreal (Canada) to serve the American market.

Truffettes à la française has gotten a makeover and pays homage to French elegance with Art Nouveau-inspired graphic elements that are vibrant, cheerful, and colorful.
The brand has partnered with a MOF and World Champion in chocolate-making: the Pascal Brunstein Truffes line is here.
It is making its debut on store shelves across the country where it was first created.

At Chocmod, we don’t just like chocolate—we love it! And ever since 1948, we’ve been passionately crafting our chocolate products (truffles, marshmallows, coated candies, and more) to bring out the very best in it.
Over the years, our craftsmanship and expertise have enabled us to elevate Chocolaterie Moderne to the status of a world leader in French-style truffles and a major French player recognized worldwide for its delicious chocolate treats (including our incredible marshmallows, with their unmatched softness).
A PASSION THAT EXTENDS BEYOND FRANCE
But none of this would have been possible without the daring spirit that led the Destombes brothers, the founders, to take risks!
As they were among the first chocolate makers in France, they were also pioneers in exporting in the 1980s, introducing the world to the art of French chocolate with their small cooler in tow. And in 2011, they established a factory in Canada to bring production closer to their rapidly growing American markets. The recipes are imported from France to continue spreading the French way of life.

THE ORIGIN OF THE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE
Chambéry, December 1895, in the workshop of French pastry chef and chocolatier Louis Dufour: the chocolate truffle was born.
Running low on chocolate for his dessert, and rather than borrowing ingredients from fellow chocolatiers, Louis Dufour chose to create a new chocolate treat using the ingredients he had on hand. Crème fraîche, vanilla, cocoa powder… all shaped into small balls, dipped in melted chocolate, then coated with cocoa powder—and just like that, the chocolate truffle was born!
